Maddi Gray
designer & creative

Hi, I’m Maddi. I’m a designer based in Brisbane with a big love for creative problem solving, visual storytelling, and working with like-minded people.

I get a real kick out of turning ideas into something you can see, feel, and connect with. Whether it's building out a brand, creating motion graphics, or just figuring out how to make something work, I’m all in. I'm a curious person by nature, love learning as I go, and I genuinely enjoy the back-and-forth that comes with collaboration.

Fast-paced creative environments are my happy place. I love jumping in, getting involved, and finding the best way to bring an idea to life.

If you're into making thoughtful, playful, or just really solid design work — let's talk.

  • 2022 - Present
At Brother & Co, I work across a wide mix of design areas including branding, campaigns, and digital projects, from early concepting to final delivery. I help shape creative ideas, build out brand identities, and design thoughtful, effective solutions that connect with people.

My role also includes video editing and motion graphics for major campaigns, often with tight turnarounds and high visibility. I help lead fast-paced branding projects, balancing quick thinking with strategic clarity and strong visual execution.

I’ve also taken on creative direction roles, including a two-day shoot for a campaign where I worked closely with the client on set to bring the concept to life and capture content that would be used across multiple channels.

Day to day, I collaborate with copywriters, strategists, clients and a design team. I contribute to pitch work, brand systems, campaign rollouts, and everything in between. I occasionally take the lead on projects, guiding them from concept through to delivery when the opportunity calls for it.

  • Jan 2022 - Aug 2022

During my time at Say-So Creative, I worked as a graphic and motion designer, contributing to the development of several brand identities. I enjoyed collaboration and create engaging visual concepts that brought brands to life, while also adding motion design elements where the opportunity allowed. It was a great opportunity to expand my skills and contribute meaningfully to some awesome creative projects.

  • June 2021 – Feb 2022
Working with the team gave me the chance to grow my skills and broaden my understanding of the design process. I helped create content for internal projects, contributed to concept development and research for client work, and designed illustration assets across a variety of briefs. I also brought in my animation knowledge, using After Effects to add movement where it mattered.

  • 2019 – 2022
Explored core animation principles including observation, meaning-making, description, interpretation, and visual storytelling. Focused on using these skills to design and communicate ideas effectively through motion and graphic-based elements. Developed work using industry-standard software and tools commonly used in motion design.

  • 2016 - 2022

In this role, I supported the team by streamlining communication, strengthening our brand presence, and keeping design output consistent and on point.

I created and delivered marketing collateral across print, digital, and social media, and managed the company’s WordPress website. I ensured brand consistency across all communication materials and helped prepare presentations, proposals, and reports. I also maintained relationships with external agencies and suppliers, making sure projects ran smoothly and met our creative standards.

Part of my role involved leading internal communication efforts — from managing social media to directing internal content, training team members on Adobe tools, and mentoring junior staff. I oversaw all marketing and comms workflows, helped implement strategies to boost brand recognition, and regularly reviewed our touchpoints to keep things cohesive.

I also got to roll up my sleeves on hands-on creative work, like mural design and environmental graphics, bringing some extra personality into the spaces we worked in.

  • 2017 – 2018
Assisted with behind-the-scenes maintenance of multiple client websites, including content development, organisation, and updates. Supported branding projects through logo development and contributed to the overall visual consistency across digital platforms.

  • 2015 – 2016
Studied at Design College Australia, working on projects across a range of disciplines including branding, UX/UI design, typography, packaging, advertising, photography, app design, and campaign development. Gained hands-on experience through industry project simulations and built a strong foundation in both creative thinking and technical execution.
